At Texanmade Jerky, everything starts with the meat. Unlike most jerky that’s made from ultra-lean cuts, we intentionally choose well-marbled beef because that’s where the flavor lives. That intramuscular fat breaks down during the drying process, creating a richer taste, better texture, and a more satisfying bite. It’s not the cheapest way to do it—and it’s definitely not the easiest—but we believe great jerky should actually taste like great beef. Every batch is crafted with that standard in mind, because passion isn’t just about how it’s made—it’s about refusing to cut corners where it counts.

A Proud Tradition

It all started in San Marcos, TX while I was in school making jerky for fun while attending college. What began as a simple hobby quickly turned into something more when friends and teammates kept asking for more. At first, I was just handing it out, not thinking much of it—but the demand kept growing. People weren’t just enjoying it, they were asking to buy it, to share it, to come back for more. What started as a way to pass the time, became a craft I took seriously focusing on quality, flavor, and consistency. From those early batches to what it is now, it’s always been about making real, honest jerky that people genuinely want.
